Install the bleeder fittings packaged with the cylinder into the outlet ports。Attach the short hoses to the fittings and push them down into the reservoirs。Fill the reservoir ? full with new brake fluid。Using a Phillips screwdriver or similar tool, slowly push the primary piston in and release until no more bubbles appear in the reservoir。Attach the new cylinder to the booster or bulkhead and tighten nuts to specifications。Remove one bleeder fitting and hose and quickly install the proper line。

Tighten line nut to specifications。Repeat for other line。Fill to proper fluid level with new fluid。Test for air in system and bleed as necessary。 Bench bleeding can also be accomplished using a rubber tipped syringe:Pull fluid out the outlet port with the syringe。Purge air from the syringe。Place it back in the same outlet port。Force fluid back into the cylinder through the outlet port。Repeat until no more bubbles appear in the reservoir。 Quick take up master cylinders require a special bleeding procedure。

See factory shop manual for the steps necessary with this design。Output Devices Output devices for the hydraulic system consists of two types of parts。 Disc brakes use hydraulic actuators known as calipers。 In a drum brake system, the actuators are wheel cylinders。Disc brake calipers work through the principle of contraction。 If you’ve ever had a bicycle with a lever and cable operated brake you have seen a caliper in action。 The motion is like the motion of a squeezing hand。 Most hydraulic brake calipers have a single large bore fitted with a piston。
