Whenever lines are disconnected or parts replaced, the system will have to be bled。 There are many methods that may be used to bleed modern brake systems。 The method used will determine on how much time, equipment, and help is available。 Pedal or manual bleeding is probably the most common way to get air out of the system。 This procedure can be accomplished quickly without special equipment, but requires two people。Clean the master cylinder cap and fill the reservoir with the proper type of fluid。

Working under the vehicle, go around to each wheel and break the bleeder screws loose。 Close the bleeder once you are sure it will come loose。Starting at the wheel that is furthest from the master cylinder, tell your helper to pump up the brakes。 The helper should pump the brake pedal at a rate of 1 stoke per second for about 10 strokes and then hold steady firm pressure on the pedal。 The helper should tell you when they are holding the pedal。Open the bleeder and let fluid and/or air be expelled from the cylinder。
