For those having problems with the DMG...

I will try to explain in few words what I always do when I have burn an OS DVD... OR TO RESTORE IT TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. The last one might be the solution for some of you.

Remember to verify the DMG image before starting any of these processes. For this use the Disk Utility. Go to top menu and select: IMAGES / VERIFY. This is very important, since your copy of the DMG might be corrupted... but, many people have obtain a working copy of the DMG, so try to download it again. Maybe the sectors of your HDD used to storage the torrent files downloads were not the best.

Burn using Disk Utilities:

Requiered: Mac OS X, DL DVD & DL DVD capable burner):

- Insert blank DL DVD.

- Wait for the system to ask you for what App to use

- Select Disk Utility (it will appear within the recommended options... nothing regarding the Blank DVD might be shown on the Disk Utility, though).

- Select BURN option on the top menu (A finder window will open...).

- Navigate to where you are storing the DMG file.

- Select Burn.

... After that, the rest should be piece of cake. Problems with this method might be due to:

- The DVD was not actually a DL DVD, or might be broken.

- The Burner is not actually DL DVD capable, or might be broken.

- Problems with the OS... try using a friend MAC(not always possible, though)

Restore DMG to an External Hard Drive:

Requiered: Mac OS X and Mac compatible External Hard Drive (8Gbs+)... with booting capabilities (If the Boot sector is corrupted it won't do the trick)

- (Optional) Mount the DMG image using Depending on the OS you are using for the process you might have to mount the DMG before start the RESTORE process.

- Connect your external hard drive to the mac.

- Make a back up of EVERYTHING (The Restore process will erase everything on the disk).

- Open Disk Utilities.

- Select the external hard drive, NOT THE PARTITION, but the DRIVE it self.

- Select RESTORE on the right panel.

- On the field SOURCE, navigate and select the DMG... if that doesn't work. Then, you might have to mount the DMG image and then, back to the Disk Utilities, to drag and drop the mounted image to the SOURCE field.

- ( On Disk Utilities Panel ) Drag and drop the External Hard Drive to the DESTINATION field.

- Click on RESTORE and wait for it to finish the process.

- With this you are done. To test if the External Hard Drive is bootable, you might want to unplug it from your Mac and connect it again. If a Windows Pops up with the content of the External Hard Drive you should be Good to Go!

- Now... to install it on your Mac front the External Hard Drive might be a hard process. Depending on what you get, you might have to either, press F5 during the booting process, to hold the OPTION key... or to install a Mac compatible 3rd party boot solution to your external Hard drive so it allows you to recognize and select the External Hard Drive to

be the one booting and not your HDD with the old system.
