Intel Xeon D family of x86-based systems on a chip is about to be expanded with a new flagship chip, dubbed D-1571. Xeon D line of processors targets microservers and storage markets, and it employs the same "big cores" as their more powerful Xeon siblings. Intel Braswell lineup has been refreshed last month. In addition to original 4 Celeron and Pentium systems on a chip, released more than 10 months ago, the company launched 7 new SoCs. One of the notable changes was introduction of separate models for desktop and mobile markets. New mobile Braswell processors are Celeron N3010, N3060, N3160 and Pentium N3710, and their only advantage over predecessors is 7% - 15% higher maximum Burst frequency. [Full story]
